Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon and the truth.
The Buddha
The education of Buddhist monks is the equivalent of a Ph.D. with about ten years of studying the scriptures, such as the Pali Canon texts, for Theravada monks or Mahayana sutras and commentaries for Mahayana monks.
Western teachers of mindfulness meditation, in contrast, do not receive the same academic education, but often come into teaching following their own personal interest in meditation and having realized the benefits of it, choose to share it with others.
Gregory Pai does not try to emulate Buddhist monks with literal translations of Buddhist doctrine or with rites and rituals. Instead, it is filtered through his particular lens of personal growth, his own sankhara. His rich and often difficult journey may offer the Western audience, a more relatable bridge to obscure Buddhist teachings.
What is offered here is over 20 years of Gregory’s teaching of the Dharma. It comes with a heart-felt wish for your eventual release from suffering.
